Hunting The Wren & Love Poems and Curses

2007 –  Collaboration with poems by James Simpson. Poet and artist worked together closely to produce words and images as parallel texts, and both are strongly influenced by the natural world, the landscape and the body.

All the boxes and slipcases vary and are made in different natural materials.

The slipcases are approximately 12” high by 8” deep by 4”wide; they contain the two volumes of poetry, 8 poems in each book. Each poem has an image, a collagraph printed in a dark blue/black. Each poem and image is interleaved with a different natural paper. The books are normal codex style with leather spines.

Edition size 25 plus 12 specials

They can also be purchased as single volumes.

Two copies were made specially to accompany the exhibition Poets in the Landscape; The Romantic Spirit in British Art at Pallant House Gallery, Chichester, 31 March – 10 June, 2007.

Further collaboration with James Simpson are still in progress, see small books and a large woodcut version of The Untenanted Room, a commercial version of which has been published by Agenda Editions.
